Summary / Abstract :
|
An obscure 1909 map of the Thai-Cambodian border may hold a key to the increasingly violent clashes between troops of the two countries in the volatile frontier region. Senior western intelligence officials have obtained copies of the map, drawn up as a result of a border agreement, now 70 years old, between King Chulalongkon of Thailand and the French government, which then controlled Indochina.
