Le 18 Juin 1978, l'armée révolutionnaire du Kampuchea a déclenhé une violent attaque contre l'armée d'aggression Vietnamienne qui avait pénétré dans le territoire du Kampuchea au village Koh Kok, district de Peam Chor, province de Prey Véng, et a totalement anéanti deux bataillon ennemis. Parmi les quelques survivants capturés figure un sergent nommé Dam Van Cat appartenant à la minorité nationale Tai vivant au Nord Vietnam.
