In April 1945 the correspondent of the London time reached Belsen and wrote: "It is my duty to report something beyond the imagination of monking". One of the British officer charged with the relief of the camp wrote that he could "never have imagined" what it was like. The news from Belsen, from Dachav, from Ausschwitz came as a tremendonus shock when it was flashed around the world in 1945.
