Additional Information: (dated 25 March 2009)
I am Mut Rin, male, 72 years old. I currently live in Koh Prak Village, Phoum Thom Commune, Kien Svay District, Kandal Province. Homicide: I have eight siblings. During the Khmer Rouge regime, four of my siblings died of starvation. My elder brother, Mut Cheng, 50 years old, and his wife, Rop, 47 years old, died of starvation in Pursat Province. I learned this from relatives who returned to our village after the liberation of Phnom Penh in 1979. My elder sister, Mut Hou, 35 years old, also died of starvation (at Koh Prak Village, Phoum Thom Commune, Kien Svay District, Kandal Province). My elder brother, Mut Puy, 52 years old, and his wife, Vorn, along with their five children and a son-in-law named Khum, were executed by the Khmer Rouge. Because Khum was a soldier of the former Lon Nol regime, the militiamen executed his entire family. This incident took place only three or four days after their arrival in Battambang Province. The other elder sister, Mut Yan, 25 years old, also died of starvation (at Koh Prak Village). The above incidents occurred during the Khmer Rouge regime; however, I don’t remember the exact dates. |
