Summary / Abstract :

A certian amount of optimism regarding Kampuchea has emerged but it is something we cannot share. Senior Chinese Vice Premier Deng Xiaoping has told our industry Minister Chatichai Choonhavan that the Kampuchean conflict will be solved in three to five years but he did not give any reason for this estimate. Indonesian Foreign Minister Mochta Kusumaatmadja is also optimistic saying that UN representatives will be allowed to be stationed along the Thai-Kampuchean border and that would be the beginning of a solution to the Kampuchea problem.
