Summary / Abstract :

No recent US policy on Southeast Asia has been as conroversial as the vote at last year's United Nations General Assembly for seating the representatives of Pol Pot's " Democratic Kampuchea." Many members of Congress were shocked by the Vote, and some like Sen Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and Rep. stephen Solarz (D-N.Y.), have called for a change in policy at teh General Assembly this September.
