From the early day of the communist resistance in Vietnam, the emanicpation of women was recognized as a key element in the anti-colonial struggle. But the wartime momentum toward equality has lost its forces. The burden of household responsibility women are expected to bear is restricting their job advancement and their participation in social affair.
