Sri Lanka's intention of joining the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) has presented the group with a bickish Diplomatic problem. The association has said, since its inception 14 years ago, that it was open to applications from other interested Countries. There are no strict rules about joining.
គោលបំណងនៃការចូលជាសមាជិកសហគមន៍អាស៊ានរបស់ប្រទេសស្រីលង្កា បានបង្ហាញជាមួយនិងបញ្ហាការទូត។ សហគមន៍បាន និយាយថាបាន បើកចំហ ដល់កម្មវិធីពីបណ្ដាប្រទេស ដ៏ទៀតនៅក្នុងការ ចូលជាសមាជិក និងមានចំណាប់នៅក្នុងប្រទេស។ ការចូលសមាជិកទាំងនេះមិនមានច្បាប់តឹង រឹងនោះទេ។
