In a surprise shake-up, the Soviet-backed Phnom Penh regime has deposed Pen Sovann as Camodian communist party Chief, according to Phnom Penh radio. The bulleting said that the communist party central committee elected President Heng Samrin on Friday to replace Mr. Pen Sovann as party secretary-general.
របបក្រុងភ្នំពេញ ដែលគាំទ្រដោយសូវៀត បានទម្លាក់លោក ប៉ែន សុវណ្ណ ប្រធានបក្សកុម្មនុយនិស្ដកម្ពុជាដោយទៅតាមវិទ្យុក្រុងភ្នំពេញ។ អង្គមេទិញបានប្រកាសថា គណៈកម្មាធិការមជ្ឈិមបក្សកុម្មយនិស្ដបានបោះឆ្នោតឱ្យលោកនាយករដ្ឋមន្ដ្រីហេង សំរិន ឱ្យជំនួសលោក ប៉ែន សុវណ្ណ អគ្គលេខាធិការបក្សនាថ្ងៃសុក្រ។
