Khieu Samphan, Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea, told Peking Radio correspondents in a lengthy interview that Militarily the Vietnamese were bogged down and striving only to stave off defeat. Politically, they were in an impase because the Kampuchean people supported the Democratic Kampuchean Forces.
ខៀវ សំផន នាយករដ្ឋមន្ដ្រីនៃកម្ពុជាប្រជាធិបតេយ្យបាននិយាយទៅកាន់ វិទ្យុប៉េកាំង ដើម្បីឆ្លើយតបទៅក្នុងបទសម្ភាសន៍ដ៏វែង ដែលត្រូវបានគេ សម្ភាសន៍វៀតណាម និង ការខិតខំអោយចេញពីការជាប់គាំង ដើម្បីទប់ ស្កាត់ការបរាជ័យ។ ខាងផ្នែកនយោបាយ ពួកគេបានស្ថិតនៅក្នុងការជាប់ គាំងដោយ សារប្រជាជនកម្ពុជាគាំទ្រលើកងកម្លាំងកម្ពុជាប្រជាធិបតេយ្យ។
