When KPNLF President Son Sann, Prime Minister of the CGDK, met with Chinese President Li Xiannian in Beijing on 15 December 1983, he told the Chinese leader that Vietnam " Oppresses the Cambodian people more and more mercilessly," and that Vietnam does not only want to empty Cambodia of Cambodians but also "to exterminate the Khmer Nation" and to transform Cambodia into another Kampuchea Krom."
