Summary / Abstract :

On 12 June 1983, in Santuk Leu district, Kampong Thom Province the inhabitants who had noting to eat, went in 60 oxen carts to Kampong Thmar market to look for rice. Three of them were arrested. The secretary chief of the commune ( installed by the Vietnamese occupiers) and 4 other vilagers intervened in order to have them set free, but they were in turn imprisoned on a charge of being in colusion with those who supplied rice to the guerrillas.
