The State Department discounted victories by Vietnamese occupation forces against Khmer Rouge guerrillas in Western Kampuchea. "There is no reason to believe Vietnam's offensive this year will be any more successful in suppressing the nationalist fight against Vietnam's occupation of Kampuchea" department spokesman Edward Djerejian told reporters.
