L'annonce de la retraite de M. Pol Pot et de son remplacement à la tête des forces des Khmers rouges par M. Son Sen s'inscrit dans un ensemble de manoeuvres diplomatiques complexes autour du probléme Cambodgien. Elle parait au moins lever un obstacle essentiel sur la voie d'éventuelles négociation entre la résistance Khmère et le Vietnam.
