Summary / Abstract :
|
The Cambodian officer was very polite as he flagged down the car carrying a group of Foerign correspondents. He salited smartly and addressed us in French as his troops sat nearby in battered old buses. It seemed he had lost half his battalion and he wondered whether we had seen it. We recalled passing several buses sitting at a cross roads, uncertain which way to go, as we drove out of Phnom Penh He thanked us, saluted again and set off.
