According to Ith Loeur, the provincial governor of Banteay Meanchey, the three guerrilla factions have more than doubled their combined strength north and south of poipet this year, form 2,000 men to 4200. The guerrillas are well armed too: The Khmer Rouge, usually operation in teams of three of five men , carry AK-47 assault rifles and B-40 rocket propelled grenade launchers or the new, ultralight Chniese made B-62 bazooka.
