Summary / Abstract :
|
In a little less than two years, i.e, since the liberation of Phnom Penh and Battambang in April 1975, the former Buddhist kingdom of Cambodia, which had weathered two thousand years of recorded history, a century of French control, six years of American bombing and perhaps five centuries (c. 800-1400) of grandeur, has transformed inself into what seems to be the most radically altered country in the world.
