Summary / Abstract :
|
Although many books and articles have been written on Democratic Kampuchea and the fates of various political, religious, and other subgroups within Cambodian society (eg, the clergy, intellectuals, soldiers and officials from the Lon Nol regime), less attention has been paid to its ethnic groups, with the notable exception of the Vietnamese. This study seeks to shed light on the roles of ethnic minorities in Democratic Kampuchea the regime's impacts on them, and their treatment and interaction with successor governments. In this vein, we will also seek to determine whether a group's role in DK has affected its status in contemporary Cambodian society.
