Chin Kim Thong, male, 64 years old and lives in Trapeang Prasat village, Trapeang Prasat commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Thong៌s wife៌s name is Diep Pheap, 63 years old. Thong has one daughter and four sons. Currently, Thong is a chief of administration of Trapeang Prasat district.

Thong was born in year of Rabbit in Tuol Rokar village, Peam Koh Snar commune, Stung Trang district, Kampong Cham province. Thong៌s father៌s name is Chin Kheng and his mother Mom Kean. His parents died of disease after 1979. Thong has one brother and four sisters. Thong is third in his family. Thong studied grade 3 (old system) in Phnom Penh when he was young. Thong quit from the school when the coup d៌état in 1970 and returned home village to help his parents in rice field.

In October 1971, Thong volunteered to join the Khmer Rouge movement. Thong served as a soldier of Battalion 36. At that time, his unit was near border between Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom Provinces. In 1973, Battalion 36 was merged with Division 14 of the Khmer Rouge Special Zone. It៌s located in west part of Phnom Penh. So Sarouen and Meach San were chief and deputy chief of the Division 14. There were three regiments within the division: Regiment 15/210, Regiment 16; and Regiment 17. Thong was in regiment 16 and it operated near Phnom Baseth. Thong was injured soon before the KR entered Phnom Penh in April 1975. Thong was sent to a hospital in Amlaing of Thporng district. After Thong leaved the hospital, Thong reunited his unit again in Phnom Penh. Thong was near Olympic stadium.

In late 1975, the KR leader declared changing the Division name from Division 14 to Division 801 and then the KR sent to the Division to protect Cambodia- Lao and Cambodia-Vietnam borders of Stung Treng; and Ratanak Kiri provinces. At that time, Thong was a chief of Radio communication (TO) of Division 801. Thong៌s office was in Veunsai and moved to Banlung later.

In 1977, Thong was become a chief of Division 801៌s security prison at Boeng Kanseng. Thong said that some soldiers were arrested and imprisoned in the prison, but other soldiers were arrested and sent directly to Phnom Penh if they were requested by Angkar៌s KR in Phnom Penh .

When Vietnamese entered Cambodia in January 1979, Thong and other soldiers of the Division 801 fled into forest within Ratanak Kiri and Stung Treng provinces. In late 1979, Thong crossed from east and west banks of Mekong River [From Stung Treng to Thala Boriwat] and walked to Cambodia-Thailand border. Thong climbed Dangrek Mountain at Mom Bei, Tonle Ropeou [a Khmer Rouge military base 1001].
