Tuon Seng, male, 62 years old and lives in O-Svay village, O-Svay commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Seng៌s wife is Phuong Phy. Seng has two daughters and three sons. Seng is first deputy chief of O-Svay commune.
Seng was born in Sting village, Ro-Laingken commune, Kandal Sting district, Kandal province. Seng៌s father is Tuon Vet; and his mother, Pal Maer. Seng has two brothers and three sisters. Seng is first in his family. Seng studied grade 7 (old system) at Ro-Hal Primary School. Seng quitted from the school in 1968, and then Seng became a Buddhist monk for two years. Seng resigned from being monkshood after the coup d៌état in 1970. In 1971, Seng joined the KR and served a militiaman in Ro Lainken commune. In 1973, the KR sent Seng to Division 11 of Special Zone. In 1974, Seng៌s unit merged with Division 14. So Saroeun was a chief the Division. At that time, Division 14 was operated North part of Phnom Penh. After the KR entered Phnom Penh in April 1975, Division 14 was stationed from Pet Lork Sang , Phsa Thmei, Phsar Daem Kor; and to Olympic Stadium. The soldiers were ordered to clean streets and flats. Aftermath, the KR sent the soldiers to work in rice field in Anlong Ka-ngan. In November 1975, the KR merged Division 11 and 14 as a new Division, it៌s called Division 801. So Saroeun was a chief. There were three regiments include Regiment 81, 82; and 83. Keo Saroeun was a chief regiment 81. Soeun was a chief of the 82; and [Ta] Leu was head of the 83. The Division was sent to Ratanak Kiri province by boat. The soldiers were in Kratie province for a few months, and then continued to their directions. Regiment 81 stationed in Bokeo and Balong. Regiment 82 was along Cambodia-Lao border at Stung Treng. The Regiment 83 was in O-Dambouk. The soldiers were divided into two groups. The groups were alternated to protect border and grow rice. In July 1977, The KR and Vietnamese had serious attack each other and in 1978 the Vietnamese passed inside Cambodia soil at O-Tang; and Boeng Chhouk. In October 1978, Seng was serious injure and transported to P-98 hospital in Phnom Penh via Dakata Airplane. Seng hospitalized for almost two months, and then he returned Ratanak Kiri by boat to Kratie. However, the Vietnamese entered Cambodia when he passed in Kratie province. In 1980, Seng climbed up Dangrek Mountain at Tonle Ropeou. Seng was at the KR military base [1001]. Seng reunited with his division 801 and he was sent to operate in Kampong Thom, Ba Theay, Prek Kdam as well. In 1986 the KR divided Division 801 into three divisions include Division 801, Division 802; and Division 709. Seng has become first deputy chief of the O-Svay since the KR integrated with Cambodian government in 1999. |
