Voeung Sin, male, 54 years old and lives in Trapeang Prasat village, Trapeang Prasat commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Currently, Sin is a member of Trapeang Prasat district council [Quota of Sam Rainsy Party].
Sin was born in Sre Russey village, Samraong commune, Stung Treng district, Stung Treng province. Sin volunteered to join the KR revolution in April 1974. He joined the revolution through his uncle៌s name is Kham who was a chief of Battalion 704, Region 104, Northeast Zone. First, Sin carried food for soldiers in battlefield. In late 1976, Sin was operated a long Cambodia- Loa border at O-Ta-Ngov, Siem Pang district, Stung Treng province. In 1977, Sin was sent by the KR to Hulman village, Yang Sum commune, Siem Pang district, Stung Trang province. Aftermath, Sin was assigned to be a bodyguard of Voeun, who was a chief Region 104. Sin escorted Voeun who often went to arrest, interrogate; and torture people. In late 1978, Voeun assigned Sin to supervise child unit in Stung Treng province. When the Vietnamese arrived in Cambodia in January 1979, Sin dissolved the unit and told the children to return their home village. Sin and other 30 women fled to Pailin. In 1982, Sin joined with Division 616 and he was a chief of platoon 12. It៌s operated around Preah Vihear province. Soeun was a chief of the Division. In 1985, Sin moved to join with Intervention Division 785. Meas Mut, Voeun; and Tem were leaders of the Division. Sin was a chief of special unit 28 of Division. Sin៌s unit operated along Tonle Sap, Mouk Kampoul, Prek Kdam, Kampong Thom and Kampong Cham provinces. Aftermath, Sin moved to Division 912, he was a Radio communicator of Vann Kosal who was a deputy chief of the Division. Finally, Sin was a chief of Police unit in O-Trao refugee camp. After the KR integrated with the Cambodia government, Sin was a reporter of a local newspaper [Reasmei Angkor Newspaper]. |
