Kim Thy, male, 58 years old and lives in Sen Sam village, O-Svay commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey province. Thy is a retirement soldier.
Thy was born in Kbal Koh village, Kbal Koh commune, Thala Borivat district, Stung Treng province. Thy៌s father is Yim and his mother, Yem Von (died during the KR regime). In 1974, Thy joined the KR revolution through Muntha. After the KR defeated the Lon Nol regime in April 1975, the KR selected Thy to Phnom Penh. There, he was a messenger of Phnom Penh city. In 1976, Muntha, who was a chief of regiment 5 of Division 801 selected Thy to be his personal messenger. In 1983, Thy was promoted to be a chief of a battalion 40 of the division 801. Thy led his soldiers to operate in Kampong Thom battlefield. In 1985, Thy fled to Pen Um and Phu Noy refugee camp within Thailand territory. Thy came to live in Sen Sam village since after the KR integrated with the Cambodian government in 1998. |
