Summary / Abstract :

On 18 August 1986 after ending the farce of the so-called conference of the Vietnam, Lao, and Cambodia foreign ministers, Vietnam issued a joint communique. There is nothing new in this communique. Singing the same old tune of farther partied troop withdrawal and a total withdrawal of Vietnamese troop from Cambodia by 1990, in an attemp to conceal their increasingly serious defeat on the Cambodian battlefield.
