|
Cambodia's long slide into tragedy began in the late l960's, when the Vietnam war began. Spilling over into Cambodian territory, communist forces used Cambodian border areas as sanctuaries and as a staging areas for attacks, and American and south Vietnamese forces crossed into Cambodia to counterattack.
