President Carter ordered an immediate airlift of 1 million worth of small arms and artrllery to Thailand as fighting broke out inside Kampuchea near a base accupied by guerrillas loyal to the ousted Khmer Rouge regime. The President's action follows an urgent requested by Thailand for faster dilivery of equipment which had been bought from US.
