If Pol Pot is a monster, he has many frankensteins not only in Khiev Samphan and Mao but in Nixon and Kissinger, in the Vietnamese who gave him his change and in the Chinese who back him. In 1973, the Vietnamese tried to corece the Khmer Rouge into negotiating a cease fire with Lon Nol.
