Summary / Abstract :
|
Asean want to see Vietnamese troop withdrawal before an acceptable political equation involving the contending Khmer factions in Cambodia is worked out. The Soviet, on the other hand, want first to see a process of National reconciliation: meaning a Khmer coalition in Phnom Penh-minus the Khmer Rouge's " Pol Pot clique " with the Vietnamese puppet Heng Samrin regime as the nucleus of any new ruling structure.
