On this date nine years ago, the Vietnamese authorities, counting on the country's great military strength, sent an army of more than 100.000 to invade Cambodia. Given the situation of confrontation and dialogue between the two superpowers, the USA and the USSR, and the trend toward detente, except in Gulf region, various hot spots in the word in 1987 were in a state of impasse.
