In four year it ruled over Kampuchea (April 1975- January 1979), The Pol Pot clique sought to " reform " to destroying schools 1,995,150 children are attending general education (1,393,600 children in the first level, 460,000 in the second, and 36,500 in the third). In 1970, the peak year of Kampuchean education before liberation, there were only 959,123 pupils and about 20,000 teachers.
