Asean has rejected the Soviet Union's call for the Cambodian seat in the UN to be vacated and not to submit a draft resolution maintaining support for the resistance coalition. Foreign Minister Savetsila said yesterday on his return from Japan after attending the 44th UN General Assembly in New York that his Soviet counterpart Eduard Shevardnadze had made the calls during their meeting in New York.
