The new army recruits has been training for two weeks and there was to be graduation party, they were told. When you earn only 500 riels (about 32bath) a month, a party is something to look toward to Rudimentary training in arms drill at an end, the day of the party arrived, the recruits were told to climb on trucks to go off to the celebration.
