Chiem Choeun aka Phon, working at Train Unit, conceded that Pen Phearum was a member of the Free Khmer. Chiem Choeun knew about that through Thanh, Chief of Logistics of Eastern Zone, in March 1972. In April 1972, Pen Phearum and he [Chiem Choeun] sank a boat in Koh Luong and Koh Chrouk battlefields, leaving 17 soldiers disappeared, 14 guns lost. The two shot soldiers, injuring our soldiers at rubber plantations. Moreover, They fled to the enemy areas in Prek Chik barrack after the information was leaked.
ឈ្មោះ ជៀម ជឿន ហៅ ផុន នៅអង្គភាពរថភ្លើង បានឆ្លើយថាៈ ឈ្មោះ ប៉ែន ភារម្យ ជាខ្មែរសេរី ដឹងព្រោះកាលពីខែ៣-៧២ ឈ្មោះ ថាញ់ ប្រធានភស្ដុភារភូមិភាគបូព៌ាបានឧទេ្ទសនាមប្រាប់។ នៅខែ៤-៧២ ប៉ែន ភារម្យនិង វា (ផុន) បានពន្លិចទូកនៅសមរភូមិ កោះលួង និងកោះជ្រូកធ្វើឱ្យពលីយុទ្ធជន១៧នាក់ បាត់អាវុធ១៤ ដើម និង លបបាញ់យុទ្ធជនឱ្យបាក់ដៃម្ខាងនៅព្រៃកៅស៊ូ ពេលនោះ បែកការណ៍ ក៍រត់ចូលខ្មាំងនៅបន្ទាយព្រែកជីក។
