My cousin named Seng Choeun was killed by the KR: During the rainy season of 1976, the KR called on my cousin, Seng Choeun, at his cottage in Rohal Suong Village, Prek Norin Commune, Ek Phnom District, Battambang Province. They ordered him to leave to do farming at another village, which was unknown to me. Choeun lived with his wife, Vet (evt), in the cottage. After he left for the farming assignment, Choeun disappeared and we never received any further news from him. I do not know why Choeun was taken, but I knew that he used to work as a Lon Nol soldier. A few months after his arrest, I heard that Choeun was killed by the KR. However, I do not know where he was killed or who killed him. The story was told to me by my father. During the KR regime, most people who used to work for the Lon Nol regime disappeared from the village. I wonder why the KR killed those educated people. |
