Loss of siblings:
Four of my siblings disappeared after mid-1976 when they were called by their unit chief to begin work at different places in Kandal Stung District of Kandal Province. My eldest brother, Thim, was the first to be called by Angkar to pick corn (location unknown) along with many other villagers. I don’t know the name of the Khmer Rouge cadre who took him. My second elder brother, Than, died of hunger in 1976. My third elder brother, Tie, died in the same year in Thmei Village, Thmei Commune, Kandal Stung District, Kandal Province, but I am not sure of the cause of his death. My youngest brother, Chap, was called by Angkar to help dig earth at Tonle Bati in Takeo Province. My eldest brother has disappeared since that time. My husband passed away at the end of 1973 while he was serving as a Lon Nol soldier. |
