Remarkable as it is as an archaeological monument, Khao Phra Viharn could also signify the beginning of a new vra in Thai- Cambodian relations. When the world court handed down a highly controversial verdict in 1962 that gave the 1,000- year, old sandstone sanctuary to Cambodia, relations between Thailand and this neighbor at once hit rock bottom.
