According to the Agriculture Ministry, rice was planted on 1, 701,000 ha out of the 1,940,000 ha planned for this rainy season. More than 90,770 ha of subsidiary food crops and 36,800 ha of industrial crops-63% and 48% of the planned area respectively-were planted.
