Mao Sophany and Hao Thouren confessed that Hean Chhen joined the CIA in 1972 with Pech Ban and Chhan Sokhom being an introducer and acceptor respectively. After the liberation, Chhen had a meeting with Pech Ban frequently. Sophany led Chhen to carry out activities under the leadership of Um Chamreun and Chang Kem.
ម៉ៅ សុផានី និង ហោ ធូរេន បានឆ្លើយថាៈ ហ៊ាន ឆេន ចូលសេអ៊ីអានៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧២ អ្នកនាំចូលឈ្មោះ ពេជ បាន អ្នកទទួលស្គាល់ឈ្មោះ ឆន សុខុម។ ក្រោយរំដោះ ឆេន បានប្រជុំ ជាមួយពេជ បានជាញឺកញាប់។ សុផានី បានឱ្យឆេនធ្វើសកម្មភាព ក្រោមការដឹកនាំរបស់អ៊ុម ចំរើន និង ចង កែម។
