Summary / Abstract :
|
Following Vietnam's military occupation of Cambodia in January 1979, the European council meeting in the Hague decided to freeze all aid to Vietnam. This position was reiterated, for example, in a joint Ministerial statement with the Asean Foreign Ministers, in October 1986, were it was stated stated that no assistance should be given to Vietnam which might " support and encourage its Occupation of Kampuchea".
