Pen Sophal, 26, was a chief of spy company of regiment 126 and joined the revolution in company 13 in Eastern Zone in 1970. Later, Sorn indoctrinated Sophal to serve for the Free Khmer movement by infiltrating into units. In 1975, Sorn assigned Sophal to infiltrate into air forces unit 502 in preparation for overthrowing Phnom Penh in July 1976.
ប៉ែន សុផល អាយុ ២៦ឆ្នាំ ជាប្រធាននយោបាយអនុសេនាធំ ស៊ើបការណ៍វរសេនាធំ ១២៦ ចូលបដិវត្ដនៅអង្គភាពអនុសេនាធំ ១៣ ក្នុងភូមិភាគបូព៌ានៅឆ្នាំ ១៩៧០។ មួយរយៈក្រោយមកឈ្មោះ ស៊ន បានអប់រំឱ្យសុផល បំរើសកម្មភាពខ្មែរសេរីបង្កប់ក្នុងអង្គភាព។ ១៩៧៥ ស៊ន បានចាត់តាំង ឱ្យសុផល ទៅបង្កប់ខ្លួននៅក្នុងកងទ័ព អាកាស ៥០២ ជាមួយគ្នាដើម្បីចាំជួយធ្វើសកម្មភាពវាយសង្គ្រប់ ភ្នំពេញនៅខែ៧-១៩៧៦។
