Summary / Abstract :
|
The internal political stability of Cambodian, unrivalled in the area, depends almost entirely on the popularity and political skill of Prince Sihanouk, The majority of the people appear to be united in support of his policies and the armed services are loyal to Sihanouk and the army chief-of -staff Sihanouk's political dominance has obliged ambitious politicians to cultivate his favour through membership of the ruling party, resulting in the absorption of all parties, other than the communists, into that party. The communist party operates through the Praocheachon which, though legally tolerated, is subject to government repression and is not present in active.
