The Prime Minister, General Lon Nol, returned quietly to Cambodia on 12 April (Just before the Cambodian new year) After two months medical treatment in Hawaii to judge by appearances, He continue to convalesce and ti leave the running of the country to general Sisowath Sirik Matak, as acting prime minister. Apart of from a disconcerting hour early on the morning of 14 April when soldiers all over Phnom Penh freely fired rifles and machine-guns into air (monstly), The Cambodian new year holidays passed off in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. After a four-day trail Prime Sihanouk's son Naradipo, was sentenced to five year hard labour for treason and co-operation with enemy and his daughter, Butum Bopha, was acquitted on similar changes
