(About 1, 150 foreigners were evacuated from the French Embassy in truck to the rain and sun. It took them 48 to 66 hours to reach the Thai border 400 Km (250 miles) distant. French officials had requested that the foreigners be evacuated by a French plane waiting in Bangkok.
