Summary / Abstract :
|
During my discussion on 13 November, Stirm stressed the French humanitarian concern with Kampuchea where he said reports indicated that only about million of the population had survived, and conditions were universally very bad. The first task therefore was to get a large scale aid programme going, and the French were concentration on this. At the same time, he said , they were continuing to press the Vietnamese in private about the necessity of their withdrawing their forces and made no secret of their relief that the best solution was the neutralisation of Cambodia.
