We had occasion 27 November to check with Bolle. while he confirmed dauge would not return to reside in Phnom Penh, He was still pretty guarded in his comments, He maintained that there was no change in policy, no down. grading of Phnom Penh " Such as there would be for example if we appointed a more senior charge'' which is of course what the Cambodians have done here) and that dauge '' Risked remaining accredited as ambassador to Cambodia until his retirement if nothing else happened before''.
