An AFP report from Peking dated 21 October quotes Sihanouk as saying that the east German Ambassador to Peking has informed him of the east german government's decision to recognise GRUNK and vote for its admission to the United Nations as the sole legal government of Cambodia. Sihanouk is reported as having said that east gernmany would temporaritly close its embassy in Phnom Penh.
