On June 01 I accompanied Mr. Sewell (SEATO secretary) on a call in Mr Haynh- Thanh- Hung assistant for refugees and relief in the ministry of social welfare. Mr Sewell told Mr, Hung that, following a request from Vietnamese embassy in Bangkok, General Vargas has asked him to look into the situation of the Vietnamese refugees from Cambodia with a view to seeing if there were area as in which SEATO might be able to assist.
