'There seems to be no further information available in Phnom Penh regarding arrangements for these talks, but when in Bangkok last week I found some skepticism about their prospect of success. It seems to be generally agreed that the Cambodian and in particular Prince Sihanouk would welcome a settlement with Thailand, and the British ambassador in Bangkok assured me that this was also the personal with of Marshal Sarit.
