Relations between Cambodia and South Vietnam has never been easy since these two countries attained their independence just over three years ago. Possibly because of the rivalry and mistrust which for historical reasons they feel towards each other, a number of issues between them have assumed exaggerated proportions and have led to constant bickering and mutual recrimination.
