On February 1, People's Daily carried a commentator article which expressed support in low key and standard terms for the statement of January 26, 1973, by Prince Sihanouk's "Royal Government" (RGNUC), confirming that Sihanouk's five point declaration of March 23, 1973 was the only solution for a settlement of the Cambodian problem.
