Summary / Abstract :

The Australian press has carried reports of a press conference Sihanouk apparently gave in Peking on April 29. They reported him has saying that we would "Like Australia to withdraw its embassy from Phnom Penh" and "Become neutral" although in a subsequent report Gregory Clark of the Australian commented that Sihanouk thought Australia was "Too tied to the US" to be able to do this.
